About AWF
AWF was founded by A’ja and her parents, Roscoe and Eva Wilson. The AWF mission is twofold, we serve as a resource for children and their families who struggle with dyslexia to empower them to reach their full potential through educational programming, workshops and camps. AWF works to change the culture of students to prevent bullying through education and mentoring, challenging students to use their power to empower compassion and inclusivity amongst their peers.

Throughout her career, A'ja has attributed much of her success to the unwavering support and inspiration from her family, particularly her parents. Her mother, despite not being athletically inclined, instilled mental fortitude, while her father, the catalyst who introduced her to basketball, guided her on the court. A'ja also acknowledges the influential presence of coach Dawn Staley, shaping not only her skills but also her approach to professionalism.
